I am Vivek Kinnera. I have worked in DevOps and platform engineering for over seven years, building and running CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platforms, and the tooling that sits between developers and production.

Most of that time was spent noticing the same pattern: the big outages get postmortems, but the daily friction does not. A flaky pipeline stage, an unclear error message, a deploy that needs three people to approve. None of it is dramatic. All of it adds up.

This blog is my attempt to write those things down properly.

How I write here

• Everything is from my own experience. Where I am guessing, I say so.
• I try to include what did not work, not just what did.
• Posts get updated when I learn I was wrong. The date at the bottom of each post shows the last change.
